Japan Shaken Hard by Magnitude 8.9 QuakeEastern Japan has been affected by what some are already saying is the worst natural disaster to hit Japan in over 100 years. In what has been a series of very large earthquakes to strike the Honshu area of Japan over the last few days, this massive M8.9 trembler has devastated much of the northeastern area of Japan. Tokyo, the capitol city of Japan, has lost power to more than four million homes, offices, and stores. Injury estimates are still being assessed, but the AP has confirmed over 140 deaths and 350 people missing. These figures are expected to rise dramatically over the next several days. |
